Kelvin Kiptum - The Race For Next
Stratergy Plan Deck Concept

After seeing how little was done to honour Kelvin Kiptum’s legacy, especially after he broke a world record in the marathon, I wanted to create something that truly celebrates the impact he made. I came up with The Race for Next — an annual marathon in Eldoret City, where he won his first-ever race.

The idea is to bring together the world’s best runners while giving young Kenyan athletes the chance to compete for free and qualify for the main event. It's set to start at 2:35, a nod to Kiptum’s record-breaking time, making every edition of the race a tribute to his legacy. The concept invites Nike to back it as a long-term platform to nurture the next generation of distance runners, from athlete kits and training support to storytelling and culture-led design.

This is about honouring Kelvin, inspiring future champions, and spotlighting the place where greatness begins. From Nike athlete kits to AR race coverage, the vision ties culture, tech, and legacy into one powerful story.
